New Eateries Come to Belle Isle Corridor
For avid Oklahoma City foodies, or the culinary-minded traveler in town to sample some of the city’s finer fare, there are some exciting new additions recently opened in or coming to the Belle Isle Corridor.
In an homage to central Mexico’s cuisine, raw foods virtuoso Ryan Parrott is opening his new concept destination, Tamazul. For those who like a little flame on their food, not to worry—Tamazul strays from Parrott’s typical raw offerings, outside of the fact that he will not incorporate a deep-fryer into the kitchen. And speaking of fuego, Parrott plans on kicking things up a notch by offering a variety of fine Mexican mescals to complement the cuisine. None of it is your typical Tex Mex that is so beloved and prevalent in the Oklahoma City area, but forward-thinking Oklahomans might appreciate the culinary change of pace.
Next up on the menu, Oklahoma City homeowners and residents will also be delighted to dine at Whiskey Cake Kitchen and Bar, located a stone’s throw away from Tamazul in the former Elephant Bar location. Led by Chef de Cuisine Kenneth Hardiman, Whiskey Cake Kitchen and Bar is an import from Plano, Texas, and is known for its innovative farm-to-table approach and in-depth bourbon menu.
A few offerings from Whiskey Cake Kitchen and Bar to whet your whistle? How about a rotating weekly menu of variations on the deviled egg? Or maybe chili butter mussels with Swiss chard are more your speed? Then of course, there are pork-centric options like pork belly ramen with a quail egg and Three Little Pigs Sliders.
